~A Few Animals From Bays Mountain~

I promised a few blogs back that I would put up some of the animal habitats from Bays Mountain.
Well, here are a few!
I am not posting pix of the actual habitats, I try my best to get photos of the animals without the fences in them.
There are a few more raptors and snakes that I haven't added photos of, but I will as I get them!

Bays Mountain Road, Bays Mountain

The second half of my hike from Saturday took me to the antennas then back to the Nature Center.

River Mountain Road, Bays Mountain

Saturday, I took a little hike on Bays Mountain.
I took Lake Road to River Mountain Road which led me to the fire tower.
I have been to the fire tower, last spring with a dear friend of mine.
However, I ran off and left my SD card so all I could take were cell pix!
I thought ahead this time!

My favorite place outside of Scott County is Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium in Kingsport, Tennessee.
I could spend all day, every day here hiking and photographing the beauty that is Bays Mountain.

Visit the link above for more information on this beautiful nature preserve!
Half the price of every photograph of Bays Mountain that is sold will go to Bays Mountain!
If you're interested in buying one please message me at

A Single Tree...In a Few Places

I am in love with 'single trees'.
I am constantly looking for them, standing all alone looking majestic.

Taken on Hillstation Alley Road near Fort Blackmore
Not a single tree, exactly, but I love this photo! Taken on Brick Church Road in Clinchport

A Few Landscapes From Scott County

The more I get out and explore the county, the more I fall in love with it.
When I was a teenager, I was dead-set on getting out of Virginia, living in a big city where I can walk everywhere and not worry about the smell of horse manure invading my nostrils.
These days, I've realized that if I had've left Virginia, I would've missed it terribly.
The beauty of this area never ceases to amaze me and I am extremely proud to say that I live among it!
